Curation vs Replication
The interior and exterior architecture is directly inspired by the Harry Potter books and movies, named locations and adjacencies were inspired by the Harry Potter Store’s “Marauders Map” Souvenir, and Avalanche’s Hogwarts Legacy, TM’s Lego Harry Potter, and any other games situated in Hogwarts Castle had a direct influence on the design. With this being said, it was crucial for me to develop my own personal flare within the design.
Drafting & Sketching
This is my 5th Minecraft rendition of Hogwarts Castle.
In November 2018, I began drafting floor plans, sketching and annotating over existing Hogwarts Castle floor plans, and studying the building in 3D circumference. With an already extensive knowledge of Hogwarts Castle, I was able to commence the building process and the drafting stage in tandem and from memory.
